Lisa Tilley Newman photographs weddings and portraits on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, combining photojournalistic coverage with traditional and modern art portraiture.
How Lisa works
Lisa knows what a bride is looking for in a photographer, because it was not that long ago that she was the one looking. She wanted photojournalistic coverage of the day as it actually happened — but she wanted timeless traditional portraits too, and fun, modern art portraits alongside them.
Most photographers pick one of those three and stay there. Lisa made it her mission to give her brides all of it, which is what every wedding she shoots is still built around today.
She studied at the New England School of Photography and the Boston Photo Collaborative, and still puts a week aside each year for workshops and seminars. Fifteen years of weddings later, that has not changed either.
